Palace access and museum wheelchairs
Versailles describes a pedestrian route through the Honour Courtyard and lifts serving visitor levels in the Palace. Its loan wheelchairs are for indoor visits at the palaces and may not be taken into the gardens. Check the official information for visitors with reduced mobility before relying on a loan chair.
Admission eligibility, supporting documents and any booking requirements are managed by Versailles. A rental booking with us does not include admission or visitor assistance from the Palace.
The gardens need separate planning
The estate's accessibility guidance warns that the gardens are not easily accessible for visitors with reduced mobility. It also notes that the attics are not wheelchair accessible. Do not plan an ambitious outdoor circuit purely from a map. Allow time for rests, changing weather and the effort of pushing a chair. Check current access and event arrangements for your visit date rather than assuming the same rules apply throughout the estate.
